NEW Federal Paid Leave Legislation

There is new federal legislation, effective on April 1, 2020, which will increase mandatory paid slick leave and provide childcare leave for many Washington school district employee affected by COVID-19.

Child Nutrition Resources

OSPI has provided a waiver form for districts to complete if they would like to take advantage of the optional waiver allowing parents and guardians to pick-up meals for children.

The intent of the form is for the district to explain how they will ensure that meals are distributed only to parents or guardians of eligible children, and that duplicate meals are not distributed to any child. Please check with your Food Service Director for more information.

Audit Deadlines

This update from the Office of the Washington State Auditor from March 26th outlines important information regarding audit deadlines in light of the current COVID-19 crisis.

Guidance: Note Disclosure- Subsequent Events

The Washington State Auditor’s Office is now expecting all entities to include a subsequent event note disclosure regarding the impact of COVID-19 to their entity. View the sample disclosure here.
