Purchasing Cards and Credit Cards:
Definition and types of charge cards. Legal requirements surrounding the cards. Correct process when issuing a card. Internal Controls to develop a solid business process including card holder training, check in/out procedures, payments and reconciliations. Memo of Understanding (MOU) – what’s needed? Best practices with district cards.
Warrants Voids, Cancellations, and Duplicate Instruments:
What you need to know about warrants and checks. Process includes stale dated, lost, duplicate warrants/checks. When to cancel. Considerations for unclaimed property. Purpose of the affidavit.
Sales and Use Tax:
You will gain knowledge and understanding of: B&O tax, Retail Sales Tax and Use Tax (Excise Tax). Also, the always confusing concept of which purchases and activities are taxable and which are nontaxable. Deferred Sales Tax. Where do digital products land? ASB fundraising and taxes.
